Abstract thinking

It's weird how you can think of something and get lost in the thought. Like when you have a moment and think about what the meaning of life is, or what happens after death and no matter how hard you try the thought of it is too abstract to wrap your mind around it. Now, don't worry, I'm not questioning life or being depressed by death, oh no. Quite to the contrary. I was thinking how people experience things differently, for example a child.

I grew up with tons of cousins, a bunch of aunts and uncles, and enough family to around at least twice. Heh. And I was thinking that when I, in the future sometime, have kids they will not know the people I know the way I know them. They will not have the same cousins as I do, nor the same aunts. Their relationship to what I hold so dear to my heart will be completely different. They will not even really know my cousins children. To my kids they will only be distant family. My kids will not look at my cousins, my family, as I do. My kids will have their own little coven of cousins; the children of my brothers. How weird is that?? And two of them will be my age!!!

And to think that it's the same with my parents. How weird is that? I think of their cousins as something distant, something that's just there.

Yeah. Sorry. I just had to write it down somewhere. Heh.

Don't worry though. I'm not planning on having kids for quite a while. I need to see the world  first. And I'm not dying just to see what's on the other side just yet; I don't even know what's on this side. As to the meaning of life; your guess is as good as mine.

Haha, that was abstract thinking for you!

Up, up and away. Stay safe and be nice.
