I worry that I don't have enough time to do all the things I want to do. Not because I have thoughts of death or anything, it's just that there are so many thing I want to do! And I worry that by the time I get around to it, by the time I actually have time to do some of these things I will have forgotten. Because I forget things. I do. All the time.
So what's to stop me from forgetting that in 2011 I really, really, really want to go off-piste skiing with Plas Y Brening for seven days in March or April? Or that I want to reach all the summits in the National Park of Rondane? Or that I want to go horseback riding across Wales one day? Or that I want to take mountaneering courses, to learn how to handle the mountains and perhaps even leading courses to know how to lead groups in the mountains both during the summer and during the winter? What's to stop me from forgetting that I want to volunteer at the London 2012 Olympics? Or go work on a farm or vineyard in Spain for a couple of months sometime in the future? How am I going to remember that I also want to learn how to kayak, and be good at it? How do I know that I'll remember that I want to climb a monstrous mountain, one that pushes me to but not past my limits, once in my life? And that I might want to work with all this outdoor stuff, instead of doing business. How am I supposed to remember that I also want to buy Tystigen in Stryn, and make huge amounts of money on it and create a success where previously there has been mostly failure? How can I keep in mind that I want to experience the military as well, since so many of my friends have tried it and loved it?
I want to keep diving in all the waters of the world. I want to keep snowboarding, and develop my skills to extreme heights. I want to see the arctic and live in a tent for a month. I want to watch all the Disney movies there are, just because. I want to buy a Mini one day, all by myself, a blue one I think, with white stripes. And I want a Ferrari and an awesome motorcycle. I want to drive route 66 and across Europe. I want to drive around Britain and see everything there is to see. I want to study business and I want to study medieval history. I want to know the names of the old gods and why they were worshipped. I want to believe that they were real, because it makes me happy, and I want to remember them. I want to be able to answer a question about sports that my Dad can't, and one about music that my brother can't answer and I want to make someone's day better by smiling.
I want to have excessive skills in first aid, in white water, under the sea, on the mountain, I want to have skills that can allow me to be able to help if it's needed. I also want to have a farm when I grow up, and I want to know how to run it, but how am I supposed to remember that I want this? I want to know how to best take care of the animals I want on my farm and grow my crops, but where's the guarantee that I will have time for that when I at the same time want to have houses all over the world that I can travel to whenever I want?
I want to be excellent in everything I do, and I believe that I can be, if I only have time for it. But how can I when there's so much I want to do?
